Baby Sussex was born weighing seven pounds and three ounces (3.26kg). Mother and child are both reported to be doing well.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex used their own Instagram account, which they hadlaunched days ahead of the Duchess’ due date, to initially announce their news to fans.

A visibly beaming Prince Harry addressed the assembled media in Windsor soon afterward.

“I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning, a very healthy boy,” he said.
